This Stock Weight Kit makes it quick and easy to add up to 1.6 lbs. of steel weights in the stock of the Ruger American® Rifle Stock Generation II rifle. Shifting the center-of-gravity (CG) rearward counteracts heavy muzzle-end weights such as bipods, silencers, etc. and improves the rifle's balance, reduces felt recoil and improves carrying comfort in the field. The weight and balance of the rifle can be tuned by installing weights in 4 oz. increments based on shooter preferences and needs.

Note: Adding full 1.6 lbs. of weight in the stock of a 22" 6.5CM American Gen II rifle shifts the center of gravity 3" rearward. Adding full 1.6 lbs. of weight in the stock of a 22" 308 American Gen II rifle reduces free recoil velocity 16% resulting is less felt recoil. 

The kit includes (6) 4 oz. coated steel weights in a tight-fitting molded cassette that lets shooters add up to 1.6 lbs. of total weight to the butt of the rifle. The cassette installs securely into the stock of the American Rifle Generation II using simple tools and without making permanent modification to the rifle. Made in the USA.
